Karan wins second Gold in Pacific Games

Sensational long distance runner, Yeshnil Karan won his second gold medal for Fiji at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands last night after winning the men’s 5000m race with a time of 15:14:89.

The Yaladro, Tavua native’s finish was the second best time ever and more so in hot conditions.

The 22-year-old made his debut at the 5000m race at the Mini Games in Saipan last year where the Tahitian, who won the silver medal yesterday beat him and so the race was about redemption for Karan as he beat the same Tahitian for a win.

Team Fiji now has 14 gold, 20 silver and 29 silver medals with three days of competition to go.
