Lautoka head coach Babs Khan says tactical changes were made during their OFC Champions League Playoff against Rewa yesterday to keep the momentum of the going.
Khan particularly elaborated on the decision to substitute skipper Zibraaz Sahib at the commencement of the second half.
“We need everybody to be on the same page as us, as the other boys. That is why Zibraaz was subbed,” he said.
In addition to lineup changes, Khan also revealed the strategic positioning of Sterling Vasconcellos in a forward role, diverging from his usual position as a right back.
The move was an experimental strategy to leverage the 19 year old’s capabilities in a new role due to the team’s abundance of talented right backs.
Khan also acknowledged the challenge posed by Rewa in the first playoff,
“We were very lucky, There is nothing taken away from Rewa; they’re a very good side, they could have beaten us today, fair and square. But like I said, we’ll enjoy this one point and we’ll go home,” he added.
