Nadi is gearing up for a riveting encounter against Tailevu Naitasiri today in their opening fixture of the Digicel Fiji Premier League at Prince Charles Park.
Head Coach Kamal Swamy told FijiLive he will be making key inclusions and adjustments to the squad.
Nadi’s recent signings in the form of Solomon Islands duo Sam Clivert and Rocky Junior from Honiara City FC will be taking the field.
The Jetsetters are also eyeing a goalkeeper from Rakiraki whose name is yet to be disclosed by the Association.
“The goalkeeper has been training individually due to circumstances preventing him from joining team practices. However, we’ve been keeping a close eye on his progress,” Swamy revealed.
The Green machine will be without Tevita Ravia, who is attending to personal commitments, but the rest of the squad is ready for action.
The team’s preparation faced hurdles due to the aftermath of the Nawaka 7s, which left the training grounds in less than ideal conditions.
“The intensity of our training was significantly affected. We managed only one friendly match against Nadroga, which ended in a draw,” Swamy added
Swamy acknowledged Tailevu Naitasiri’s strong team dynamics and their history of causing upsets, including previous victories over Nadi.
“They are a good team, having played together for the past three years. We’re prepared for a tough match,” he concluded.
The Nadi vs Tailevu Naitasiri match kicks off at 3pm.
