Two men charged with the murder of a 33-year-old man in Suva, earlier this month have been remanded in custody by the Magistrates Court in Suva.
The matter has also been transferred to the High Court as it is an indictable offence.
Abdul Imran, 26, and Zahir Hassan, 28, both of Nakasi, appeared before Resident Magistrate Krishnan Prasad this afternoon.
Full disclosures have been served to both Imran and Hassan.
Police Prosecutor objected to bail for both the accused as the matter is of public interest; also, they might interfere with the prosecution witnesses as one of the witnesses is a family member and also the victim’s girlfriend.
The Court, however, ordered that both the accused persons be remanded.
It is alleged the duo assaulted the victim causing serious injuries and resulting in his death.
The matter has been adjourned to 3 May for the first call in High Court.
