Pearls fine-tuned ahead of World Cup opener

The Fiji Pearls have played three warm-up matches in preparation for the Netball World Cup opener against Tonga Tala on Friday in Cape Town, South Africa.

The team settled into their hotel and wasted no time in resuming their training at the convention center.

The national side tested themselves against Jamaica, Malawi and Silver Ferns as the matches provided valuable practice and helped them fine-tune their strategies leading up to their pool games.

Netball Fiji chief executive Vivian Koster expressed her satisfaction with the team’s preparation.

“The players had the chance to rest and recover from the journey before hitting the court to continue their training.”

“It’s crucial for them to be in top form when they face tough opponents like Tonga Tala.”

With the team’s focus on getting into their best shape and building their chemistry on the court, the warm-up matches were seen as a crucial part of their World Cup preparations.

“We have a few warm-up matches lined up, which will be vital in assessing our strengths and identifying areas we need to work on.”

“The ultimate goal is to be fully prepared and give our best performance in the World Cup.”

The Fiji Pearls will meet Tonga at 7pm on Friday before they play Zimbabwe on Saturday and face Australia on Sunday in their last pool match.
