PM’s International Business Awards returns

The Prime Minister’s International Business Awards returns after almost four years as the premier event recognising the contribution of local businesses in moving Fiji forward.

Investment Fiji chief executive, Kamal Chetty said that the award will present an unparalleled networking opportunity between local businesses and international stakeholders.

“We are excited about the awards and the Prime Minister’s International Business Awards 2022 will celebrate the enduring efforts of Fiji’s business community during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“We are proud to honour and celebrate those who have exemplified excellence, resilience, and adaptability in the face of a global pandemic,” he said.

“Their persistent hard work in achieving success is a testament to Fiji’s potential as a thriving investment and trade destination.”

He said innovation is critical for the growth of country and the businesses.

“It is very important to see that how the people innovated before and after pandemic”, Chetty said.

There is a total of 17 awards and 13 categories this year with the introduction of three new categories, the Excellence in Outsourcing Award, the Best Crisis in Recovery Award and Pacific Horticultural and Agricultural Market Access (PHAMA) Plus Agribusiness Innovation Challenge.

Four new recognition awards have been introduced to acknowledge businesses that have made an impact to the Fijian economy.

The award will aim to motivate businesses to continue raising standards, create job opportunities and enhance corporate excellence and innovation.

Nominations were submitted through the official PMIBA website, and a total of 219 applications was received.

Fiji Water is the main sponsor of the event with other major sponsors including BSP Financial Group Ltd, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI), Westpac Fiji, Reserve Bank of Fiji, Telecom (Fiji) Pte Ltd, DHL, Vodafone, Swire Shipping, Golden Manufacturing, Tropik Wood, British American Tobacco, TOTAL Energies, PHAMA Plus and our partners Pure Fiji, Fiji Kava, Victoria Wines and C&C Solutions.

The awards will take place on Saturday 25 November, 2023 at the Sheraton Fiji Resort in Denarau.
