Rere’s Lavidi Bros fall short against NZ

Fiji 7s Winger Ropate Rere’s Lavidi Brothers fell just short against the mighty New Zealand 7s side, going down 7-5 in a thrilling pool match of the 2024 Fiji Bitter Marist 7s at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.

The match saw the Lavidi Brothers maintaining a slender lead of 5-0 for the majority of the game.

The turning point came in the final minutes when All Blacks 7s playmaker Joe Webber broke through to score a crucial converted try.

Despite leading throughout the game, the Lavidi Brothers with former Fiji 7s players Tevita Daugunu, Daniele Yaya, and Iowane Raturaciri, couldn’t hold off the late surge from the New Zealand team.

Earlier in the day, the Lavidi Brothers also faced a setback against Dominion Brothers, losing 14-7.
