Rewa secured a commanding 5-1 victory over Tailevu Naitasiri at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori during the third round of the Digicel Fiji Premier League today.
The scoring was opened by Epeli Valevou, who found the net early in the match, setting the tone for what was to come.
This initial goal intensified Rewa’s attacks, culminating in skipper Setareki Hughes doubling their advantage with a well-placed shot.
The momentum firmly in their favor, Rewa saw youngster Asivorosi Rabo further widen the gap, bringing the score to 3-0 as the teams headed to the halftime break.
The Delta Tigers’ relentless pressure and attacking style did not wane in the second half, with Dylan Shankar successfully converting a penalty and Iosefo Verevou adding a spectacular solo goal, skillfully evading Tailevu Naitasiri’s goalkeeper Sitiveni Matalaba.
Despite the overwhelming advantage, Tailevu Naitasiri managed to find a consolation goal late in the game through Mosese Nabose, who skillfully beat Rewa’s goalkeeper Isikeli Sevanaia in his own territory.
However, this effort was not enough to mount a comeback, and the match concluded with a resounding win for Extra Supermarket sponsored Rewa.
