Winger Sivo gets 3-match ban

Fiji Bati and Parramatta Eels winger Maika Sivo has been handed a three-game ban for a high tackle on Titans star AJ Brimson during Sunday’s trial game.

The incident in question came in the 57th minute of the Eels’ win as the Titans spread the ball to their right edge, with Brimson quickly shifting it onto winger Phillip Sami.

The Gold Coast was able to keep the play going until an offload to Alofiana Khan-Pereira saw the Titans speedster race over to score.

In the background though Brimson was left on the ground after being flattened by Sivo in the lead-up to the try, eventually helped from the field by a trainer as he was taken for a HIA test.

Sivo was subsequently placed on report and on Monday morning slapped with a three-game ban if he takes the early plea.

The Eels winger is not helped by his record given this was his third and subsequent offence.
