A 31-year-old woman died in a freak accident near Waila Settlement in Naluwai, Naitasiri yesterday.
The victim was driving a tractor loaded with bags of dalo, when allegedly due to the slippery road condition, the tractor veered off the road and landed in a nearby creek.
The victim was unfortunately trapped beneath the tractor.
A 25-year-old man who was accompanying the victim had managed to jump off the tractor, escaping serious injury, and quickly sought help.
She was rushed to the Vunidawa Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
