$55m project for old Nausori market site

The Nausori Town Council and Market Development (Nausori) PTE Limited have launched a Public Private Partnership (PPP) to develop the old market site in Nausori.

This partnership will allow the construction of a six-story Ratsun City Nausori complex worth $55 million on the 7,500-square-meter land at the old Nausori market site.

Minister for Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa while officiating at the launch said he strongly believes the partnership will revitalize the Nausori Central Business District landscape, infrastructure and economy to attract investment and create job opportunities.

Nalumisa said the Government is excited about the partnership and the potential it holds for Nausori and Fiji as a whole.

He said working together with private investors they aim to create vibrant, profitable and sustainable developments which will not only enhance the landscape and economy but will also improve the living standards of residents and community members.

“The complex will consist of a supermarket, bakery, restaurants, a food court, retail shops and office space. RATSUN City Nausori will also consist of a 55 room RATSUN Apartment Hotel that will overall be complimented by a 136 space car park.”

Nalumisa added that the Nausori Municipality is thriving in terms of new developments and currently there is a $22 million development happening in Davuilevu which is in its construction phase.

He said most of these investors are local businesses and this is a clear indication of strong investor confidence in the Fijian economy which will accelerate Fiji’s growth.
