8 arrested for drunk and drive

Eight drivers were arrested in the last 24-hours for driving under the influence of liquor while 198 were booked for speeding.

The eight drivers are currently in custody and are expected to front court after being formally charged.

The Fiji Police Force has increased its traffic operations around the country and officers are out and about conducting checks and issuing infringement notices to those found to be breaching the law.
