Fiji Water workers on strike: NUW

National Union of Workers (NUW) General Secretary Felix Anthony has confirmed that staff of Fiji Water in Lautoka and Yaqara have gone on strike this morning and that a statement is expected soon.

Speaking to FijiLive, Anthony said they have a representative present with workers presently, and would not be able to make any other comment on the matter.

The NUW confirmed that its members are unhappy about many unsettled issues concerning them, particularly the non-payment of overtime to its members.

They have also demanded a pay increase for its members.

Members of the National Union of Workers took part in a secret ballot for an industrial action to be taken, and the majority voted in favor of the action.

FijiLive has reached out to Fiji Water for comments.
