The Fijian Elections Office has taken down its results app after facing some issues and will start the app again and also provide printouts of the provisional Results Management System on their Facebook page.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem said they had to make the decision after candidate 308, who is People’s Alliance’s Peceli Vosanibola received 15,000 votes on the app but in fact had 63 votes in the Results Management System.
He said having two sets of data will ensure data verification as they do not want to face a similar situation resulting from the app.
Saneem is expected to provide more information soon.
