Democracy has won, says Gavoka

Newly sworn-in Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka says democracy and the people of Fiji have won.

While responding to the Parliament’s decision to elect Sitiveni Rabuka as Fiji’s Prime Minister, Gavoka stated that SODELPA looks forward in working together with the People’s Alliance Party and National Federation Party for the improvement of the lives and freedom of ordinary Fijians.

“We return the glory and honour to the Lord Almighty.”

Rabuka was elected the Prime Minister after getting 28 votes while former Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama received 27 votes from Members of Parliament.

Gavoka had nominated Rabuka while Alvick Maharaj moved Bainimarama’s name.
