Lautoka to decide coach Khan’s fate

The Lautoka Football Association president Shalendra Prasad has revealed that the association is reconsidering the position of interim coach Babs Khan following consecutive defeats to Nadroga and Labasa.

The Blues suffered losses to Nadroga 4-3 and Labasa 2-1.

While speaking to FijiLive, Prasad shared his concern over the team’s performance, saying, they were doing much better last season.

“If we look at the 2023 season, Lautoka was doing pretty well but then all of a sudden the standard of the team is going down.”

“We had few meetings with our present coach Babs Khan but nothing seems to be coming into effect, there’s no improvement,” he said.

With the DFPL taking a three-week break, players have been released to participate in religious tournaments.

“When they come back, we will regroup and rethink what we need to do,” Prasad added, signaling a crucial period ahead for the club as it seeks to reverse its fortunes.
