Business hype in Suva: Patel

Suva Retailers Association President Jitesh Patel says the flow of business has started to hype up in the capital city as we approach Christmas and New Year.

Patel said the business climate is getting bigger and better as retailers are now recording increasing sales every day.

“The business performance continues to pick up now that we are already in the festive season. People have started to shop around the city and shops are open for extra hours just to meet the customer demand.”

“We have seen a huge increase in business flow, it’s steady and getting better day by day. There can be ups and downs as mid-weeks are catching up the busy period but since the last two weeks, the business has really hyped up.”

“Most of the retail shops are usually full of customers and we can see the customer lines going outside their shop which really tells us that we are in a busy period. We did not expect this much busy but the retailers are already geared up for this.”

Patel also advised customers not to rush in their shopping but to shop wisely and double-check the price of items before purchasing them.

“Shop smart and choose wisely.”

“A lot of items will be on sale and people will be rushing into buying them. There’s enough stock of items and we don’t want people to rush into their shopping without checking the price.”

“So it’s very important that shoppers keep checking the price of goods and services before they purchase them. Also, stay safe while shopping and monitor children when you bring them along.”

“I’d like to thank the Fiji Police as we can see a lot of police operations on the street and in some shops. They are there to keep the business environment safe and we acknowledge them for their hard work,” he added.
