Dream HK 7’s for new kid on the block

23 year-old Joji Nasova has made a significant leap in his rugby career by being named the sole new face in the Fiji 7s team for the upcoming Hong Kong 7s.

For Nasova, this selection is not just a professional milestone; it’s the realization of a lifelong dream.

Growing up, he was inspired by the Fijian legends he watched on TV, hoping one day to follow in their footsteps.

“I started playing rugby when I was 9, from primary school till now. I have always dreamt of being a national rugby player,”

“There were a lot of people that I used to watch on TV that represented Fiji, and I wanted to be like them,” said the Ba man.

The call to join the national team filled him with an indescribable joy.

“I was overjoyed when I was selected because this is something I have always grown up watching,”

“I went through many challenges growing up; my mum passed when I was still young, so being able to reach this stage is a blessing,” he said

Despite the hurdles, Nasova’s resolve has only strengthened, fueled by a desire to honor his family and country through his performance.

“I will not stop here. I will continue to work hard. I will improve my game, so we may be able to bring back the victory for Fiji,” he stated with determination.
