Experienced forward Suliano Volivoli says the new coaching management is working on reviving old rugby techniques to enhance the team’s performance in Hong Kong 7s.
The lanky Policeman said with changes in the coaching panel, they can see a lot of changes in the players.
“They are bringing back old techniques that were played before, and we hope to bring that to the Hong Kong 7s,” he said.
With the three-day event on the horizon, the team is focusing intently on delivering a strong performance.
Volivoli offered advice to younger players, urging them to stay calm and focused.
“Your mindset should not be like you’re playing for any other 7s tournament. There’s going to be a huge crowd; don’t be anxious. Don’t play individually, play as a team,” he shared.
The team is also benefiting from the expertise of Gareth Baber, who is working with the squad as a consultant.
“Gareth Baber is with us at the moment as a consultant, he is also preparing us for minor shortcomings which we hope to improve on.”
With a clear personal goal, Volivoli is committed to maintaining discipline and striving for success.
“My personal goal is to maintain discipline and to be successful in our campaign for the Hong Kong 7s,” he concluded.
