Fijiana 7s lose to USA in 5th place match

Fiji Airways Fijiana faced a tough challenge against the USA in the 5th place match at the Vancouver 7s, ultimately falling 29-7.

The match began with USA’s winger, Sarah Levy, quickly establishing dominance by scoring the first try, followed by a successful conversion.

Fiji struggled to regain control, allowing Levy to score again shortly after, although this time without a conversion.

The eagles continued to apply pressure, with Leyler Kelter and Ariana Ramsey both breaking through Fiji’s defenses to extend their lead to 24-0 by halftime.

Fiji’s difficulties were compounded in the second half as Talai Wilson received a yellow card, leading to another try for the USA by Sammy Sullivan.

USA faced their own setback when Ariana Ramsey was also sent to the sin bin. Fijiana skipper Ana Maria Naimasi, managed to score a consolation try in the final minute, with Cavuru adding the conversion to bring the final score to 29-7.
