Fiji-born strength master, Frankie Harman will be the only woman representing New Zealand at the Static Monsters World Championships, 2023 in London.
The mother of five competed in the Static Monsters Worldwide competition held in Manawatu. and scored 72.5kg on the Log Lift and a 210kg Axle Deadlift
Harman’s first place finish in Manawatu placed her eighth in the world for her category also securing her spot at this year’s world championships in London.
“I didn’t expect to finish in the top ten because there was about 66 women in the master’s group from all over the world and I was like: ‘What?!’ and then had a little cry,” Harman told Sunmedia.
Harman aims for a top percentile finish in London.
“I want to finish in the top five.
“I will try to get 75kg with the Log Lift and probably 230kg with the Axle Deadlift.”
Static Monsters World Championships is a Log Lift and Axle Deadlift competition attracting men and women from across the world to stake their claim as monsters of strength.
The tournament will be held from July 28-30.
