Kolinivala inspires Ralagi in Bowl win

Speedster Jonacani Kolinivala’s try in extra time saw newcomers Ralagi 7s win the Bowl final in the Youth division beating NNN Tubarua Youths 17-12 at the Coral Coast 7s in Sigatoka today.

Both teams put on a strong performance and held their own against each other before Alipate Vucukula dived in the corner to score but his conversion failed.

Ralagi players made the match difficult for themselves with their lack of ball possession and frequent errors from the young side.

Tubarua had a slender 5-0 lead at half time.

Early in the second half, Ralagi got on the scoreboard through Kavala Veiqati who scored from a Viliame Tuwai set piece play but the conversion missed.

Tubarua responded immediately with a try from Daniel Turuva and he also converted to increase the lead to 12-5.

Ralagi made some wise choices and cut down Tubarua’s joy when Samuela Tomivalu picked up a loose ball and scored right under the post and converted to level at 12-12.

The match went into extra time to decide the winner and Kolinivala intercepted the ball from the Tubarua defence and ran towards the try line to score the winner.
