Nadi bounced back to winning ways in the Skipper Cup and posted an impressive 34-16 win over Namosi in Round 3 at Prince Charles Park yesterday.
After a shocking defeat to Macuata in the last round, the Jetsetters were determined to make amends and come back stronger.
Namosi got the first points of the match via a Apisai Naqamu penalty.
But a brace of tries by lock Peni Naruma put the hosts up 12-3 midway in the opening half.
Flanker Kelemeta Ligaigusu’s try got Namosi back in the match but the hosts continued to pile pressure and prop Josua Kotobalavu bulldozed his way to the try-line to score their third try and put them ahead 19-8 at halftime.
Replacement Timoci Tiloko kicked a penalty for Namosi to get the first points of the second spell before Nadi extended its lead further in the 52nd minute through yet another forward pack try, this time hooker Peni Malumu finding his way through.
Sireli Masiwini’s try a couple of minutes later had the win in the bag for the Jetsetters although Namosi managed to get a try late in the game through Atonio Qio.
Fullback Navitalai Tuilawa got the final points of the match for Nadi via a drop goal to end the match on a high note.
Meanwhile, Nadi thrashed Namosi 41-15 in the U20s match.
