Netball Fiji has taken a proactive step towards enhancing the coaching skills within the Lautoka Netball Association by hosting a two-day workshop in Vomo, Lautoka, from March 13th to 14th.
The workshop, led by Fiji Pearls head coach Una Rokoura, attracted seven club coaches who delved into the core principles of effective coaching.
The focus of the session was on laying a strong foundation in coaching fundamentals.
Rokoura, with her rich experience and knowledge, shared insights into team training methods, planning effective sessions, and the importance of activation exercises.
“These are crucial elements that our club coaches need to prioritize in their respective teams,”
“Netball coaches around the country should understand that the wellbeing of their players is crucial at the stage where they’re at in grassroots level,”
“This stage is pivotal for players’ development as they progress through the levels of the game,” said Rokoura.
Netball Fiji plans to continue this momentum of improving coaching standards across the country.
The next coaching workshop is slated for the Nadroga Netball Association, set to take place on the weekend of March 23rd to 24th.
