Two men are in Police custody for their alleged involvement in an early morning robbery at a Lautoka Service Station.

Chief of Operations, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abdul Khan said after 1am this morning, a report was received that four armed men had threatened, assaulted the company’s security guard and stole cash and assorted items before fleeing in a car.

ACP Khan said roadblocks were erected and a team consisting of the Western Division Task Force, K9 Unit and Crime Scene Investigations were deployed.

The getaway car was later found at Kaleli Settlement and through information shared by members of the public; a 26-year old man was identified as the alleged driver and taken into custody.

ACP Khan said the second suspect was arrested shortly after and has been taken into custody also.

The investigation team continues to pursue information about the other two suspects and are expected to make arrests soon.
