UK based Wara named in Bula Boys squad

UK based former Fiji U23 defender Scott Wara has been named in the Digicel Bula Boys squad for the upcoming FIFA International Friendlies Four Nations Cup which will be played in Solomon Islands next week.

Wara, a former Stoke City age-grade player who now plays for Stalybridge Celtic FC in Northern Premier League Division One is among the five overseas based players in the squad.

The others include Captain Roy Krishna, goalkeeper Aiydin Mustahib, defender Mohammed Muzakir Nabeel and midfielder Nabil Begg.

Players who have failed to make the cut include: Suva keeper Akuila Mateisuva, Wellington Olympic defender Gabriel Matanisiga, Sydney based midfielder Abdullah Aiyas, New Zealand based Mohammed Shuaib Khan and James Hoyt, Jason Rokovucake, Ilimotama Jese, Remueru Tekiate, Ashnil Raju and Lekima Gonerau.

The Bula Boys are set to depart for Honiara on 14 March, with their first match scheduled for March 18th at the Honiara National Stadium, followed by the final leg on 21 March.

Fiji squad– Isikeli Sevanaia, Sterling Vasconcellos, Epeli Leiroti, Antonio Tuivuna, Filipe Baravilala, Ivan Kumar, Sitiveni Cavuilagi, Setareki Hughes, Dave Radrigai, Mohammed Fataul Raheem, Sailasa Ratu, Tevita Waranaivalu, Merrill Nand, Muni Shivam Naidu, Thomas Dunn, Etonia Dogalau, Sairusi Nalaubu,  Atunaisa Naucakidi.
