10 umpires earn Netball Aust C badge

10 local umpires have earned the Netball Australia’s C Badge after a three-day umpire workshop which was conducted by one of Netball Australia’s top umpires, Tim Marshall.

Marshall regularly officiates at the Suncorp Super Netball and recently at the Netball World Cup.

The workshop took place from October 11th to 13th at the Vodafone Arena in Suva with 15 umpires participating where Marshall focused on various aspects of netball during the workshop, including the rules, their practical application, and further clarifications on high-performance standards.

 “The goal with this session is to expand the current knowledge and rules application of the talented local umpires and introduce them to high-performance insights.”

The aim of the workshop was to enhance the knowledge and skills of the local umpires and Marshall added that the aim of the session was to extend their current knowledge on rules application and introduce them to some high performance insights.

“We are providing a refresher course for the umpires who will be officiating at the Quad Series and giving these local umpires exposure to high-performance standards.”

Marshall said that the workshop is part of the umpires’ development to enhance their capabilities.

“We are covering the application of rules in high-performance scenarios, with the intention of increasing their knowledge and ability to apply the rules effectively on the court.”
