Laqeretabua joins Western Force

Fijiana 15s Rugby World Cup centre Rachel Laqeretabua has signed with the Western Force for the 2023 Super W season.

Laqeretabua crosses over from the northern hemisphere to join the elite Super W club after a stint with English club Saracens.

Head Coach Matt Hodgson said Laqeretabua’s inclusion was signs of positive progress for the women’s game in the province.

“Rachel Laqeretabua relocating to WA from Saracens and the England program illustrates that what is emerging here in WA is being recognised and acknowledged internationally,” Hodgson told the club website.

Meanwhile also joining the Western Force for the 2023 season is Martha Mataele, the wife of Flying Fijians winger Manasa Mataele.

Former Fijiana Drua player Sera Ravatudei has also been named in the squad.
