Fiji’s Olympian Sophia Morgan finished eighth overall at the New Zealand International Laser Class Association (ILCA) Nationals which took place over the weekend at Murrays Bay, Auckland.
The event saw over 120 sailors entered to be part of the event, including a record open fleet of over 60 boats.
Manager Catherine Morgan said they were pleased with the high placing despite variable wind conditions that included big shifts and big gusts.
Among to the contestants were New Zealand women’s top sailors Olivia Christie and Greta Pilkington George Lane and NZ top Youth sailors including Zach Stibbe, Louis Poletti, George Pilkington and Maddie Rist and many more.
