Fiji Pearls suffer third defeat in World Cup

The Fiji Pearls suffered their third loss at the Netball World Cup after going down 62-48 to underdogs Malawi in the preliminary stage two competition in Cape Town, South Africa on Monday.

Malawi dominated the entire match with an impressive 20-10 lead in the first quarter. Fiji was denied four goals while Malawi was also denied once.

Fiji trailed by 36-23 in the second quarter and again they were denied a goal.

In the third quarter, Malawi continued to lead by 47-36 and ended the match with the impressive score line.

Fiji lost to Tonga 56-51 in their opening match and registered their first win against Zimbabwe 52-48 before they went down 101-32 to Australia.

The Unaisi Rokoura coached side will face the England Roses next at 7pm on Wednesday.
