The Social Democratic Liberal Party’s Management Board has vetted and approved three applicants who will be endorsed and announced as nominees for the Party Leader’s position at next Saturday’s Annual General Meeting in Suva.
It is understood that SODELPA Backbencher Aseri Radrodro and former SODELPA MP Tanya Waqanika are among the applicants who have made the cut.
The third applicant which the Management Board has approved is a 26-year-old female.
Speaking to FijiLive, SODELPA’s General Secretary Viliame Takayawa said the Party will formally announce the nominees during the AGM.
Takayawa highlighted that two females had applied and they are really happy with this response.
“Females need to support female politicians and this is something that the Party has been advocating for since 2014.”
Takayawa also confirmed that the Party’s Youth Council Acting President Koroi Cakacaka Tikoilomaloma has resigned.
He said Tikoilomaloma was recently admitted to the bar, hence the need for him to resign.
