Radrodro wasn’t unanimously endorsed: Waqanika

Former Social Democratic Liberal Party Member of Parliament, Tanya Waqanika has lashed out at Party General Secretary Viliame Takayawa for publicly stating that Aseri Radrodro has been unanimously endorsed by the Management Board as Party Leader Designate.

Waqanika in a social media post said the fact is that Radrodro as Party Leader by the Management Board was not unanimous.

She said SODELPA Youth and the Western SODELPA Management Board Members did not endorse Radrodro’s appointment.

Waqanika said there were two or three representatives in the Management Board representing their constituents who also disagreed.

“It’s important that the party members on the MB or any board for that matter, must voice their opinions. With the new appointments of some SODELPA Management Board Members, I wonder whether they realize that the nation’s fate is in their hands as their continued “silence on the board is acquiescence.”

In a twist, Waqanika praised SODELPA Member Seremaia Tuiteci who is leading the charge against the decision to remove Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education Viliame Gavoka from the Party.

Waqanika called on Western Party Members to turn up in numbers at tomorrow’s AGM and vote against the unconstitutional removal of Gavoka.

“Come and support your Deputy Prime Minister and put an end to this madness and mayhem. Your vote and support for Hon Gavoka is a support for the Coalition Government. Tomorrow’s outcome can create instability in the Coalition & this is what concerns me,” Waqanika added.
