Radrodro controls Management Board, claims Waqanika

Former Social Democratic Liberal Party Member of Parliament, Tanya Waqanika says Aseri Radrodro’s claim that he is a Party man and is content with being a backbencher is a lie and has labeled it as “bullshit”.

In a statement, Waqanika claimed that both Radrodro and his wife Sainiana are in control of SODELPA’s Management Board as they have had a hand in the appointment of the SODELPA President and three VPs.

She also claims that the couple is not looking at the 2026 General Election and that they intend to destabilize the Coalition Government now.

“His only chance to get back into Cabinet (despite the Hon PM confirming that he will not reinstate) is not with this Coalition Govt but with the Opposition.”

Waqanika said Fiji does not need a snap election to change the Government.

“All it needs is SODELPA’s Management Board to issue a party directive to their sitting MPs to vote in favor of a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister to allow the Opposition to lead the country.”

She has called on the Coalition Government to be alert, after the Management Board issued a clear directive to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Education to relinquish his Education portfolio.

“This shows the recklessness, stupidity & lack of understanding of the 2013 Fiji Constitution which it clearly states that only the PM appoints and removes Ministers.”

“As long as the Radrodros have control of the party, they will keep pushing to have Aseri back in Cabinet. Quite frankly, I do not know the facts behind the FNU saga, and had the matter has been handled properly & confidently, there would have been some hope of him being reinstated back as the Minister.

“Too late now, the horse has bolted,” she added.

Meanwhile, SODELPA will hold its Annual General Meeting in Suva tomorrow.
