Heavy rain forecast now till Saturday

Fijians are being advised to carry their umbrella’s around as the Fiji Meteorological Service has issued a heavy rain alert for some parts of the country.

The alert is now in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Yasawa and the Northern Lau Group.

The Weather Office had indicated that occasional rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls are expected over these areas from today till the weekend.

This is due a trough of low pressure that’s approaching the country from the northeast.
