Cabinet has approved name change for the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, to the ‘Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection’.
In making the decision, cabinet noted that social protection programmes have played an important role in providing a safety net for individuals against economic risk and vulnerability, and this will now be appropriately reflected in the Ministry’s new name.
The new name will be effective from 1 August 2023.
