FRU postpones provincial competitions

Fiji Rugby Union has postponed Round 5 of provincial competitions scheduled for this weekend due to the persistent heavy rain affecting the country.

The safety and well-being of players, officials, and spectators remain the utmost priority and after careful consideration and assessment of the current weather situation, it has been determined that the conditions are not conducive for the smooth conduct of the matches.

The Fiji Rugby Union urges all Unions to prioritise safety during this time.

“We advise all individuals associated with the competition to exercise caution when moving, and to keep a close watch on their respective families.”

“Furthermore, we encourage everyone to stay updated with the latest advice and warnings issued by the Government regarding the prevailing weather conditions.”

FRU is in close communication with relevant authorities to monitor the situation closely.

Once the weather conditions improve and it is deemed safe to proceed, a revised schedule for Round 5 will be announced promptly.

The only games that will be played this weekend will be the Vodafone Vanua and Royal Tea Ranadi Northern Pool games.
