Five-year-old drowns in hotel pool

A five-year-old child is alleged to have drowned whilst swimming in a pool at a Nadi hotel yesterday.

Police say the victim was swimming with his cousins when the incident occurred.

The drowning death toll currently stands at seven, compared to two for the same period last year.

Police are reiterating the importance of proper supervision and that children should never be left in the care of other children.
