Police to meet Army in women’s Plate final

Police thrashed Tagimoucia Ranadi 28-0 and will play Army in the Plate final of the McDonald’s Coral Coast 7s at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka today.

Playmaker Livia Naidei scored two brilliant tries and converted successfully as well to give Police a quick 14-0 lead.

A ball knocked forward by Tagimoucia further opened up a chance for Police and it was winger Akosita Tiva who made no mistake from her tap and go effort as she reached out to the try-line and Naidei’s conversion gave them a 21-0 lead at the breather.

Tagimoucia Ranadi had a good opportunity to score from fly-half Torika Lesavua but she was pushed out by the Police forwards just near the try-line.

Speedster Makarita Tunidau scored the fourth and final try of the match in the dying moments which Naidei again converted.

In the first semifinal, Army defeated LIV Stingrays 12-5.

The Women’s Plate final will kick off at 3.05pm.
