At just 15 years old, Maikah Lomax Dau, the son of former Rewa and national defender Lorima Dau is already carving out a niche for himself in the senior ranks of Nasinu Football Association.
Dau recently debuted in Round 5 of the DFPL against Suva and played his second match with Tailevu Naitasiri where he celebrated his first win in the Premier League.
“My experience playing and winning the first game with Nasinu in the premier was good. This was my second match, and I feel proud as we have a win and 3 points, he told FijiLive.
“Just want to thank the lord for giving us the breath and strength for today.”
Playing among seasoned athletes, Dau has found the environment to be both challenging and nurturing.
“My experience with the big guys is good as they help me go through training in the game. Sometimes they growl at me, but I learn from my mistakes as they tell me where to go, what to do,” he explained
Despite his stature, Dau is determined to improve and adapt.
“I am a bit short, so some of the guys come hard on me, but through my mistakes, I will learn and I will improve on that.”
As Maikah continues to develop his skills among the Nasinu seniors, he remains a player to watch, bringing a blend of youthful enthusiasm and a legacy of footballing pedigree to the field.
