Walesi investigation to conclude soon

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Communications, Manoa Kamikamica says Government’s investigation into the excessive spending on Walesi will conclude soon and he is adamant to present a report to Cabinet early next year.

Speaking to FijiLive, Kamikamica said before making any announcement, his prerogative is to go back to Cabinet for a decision.

Kamikamica revealed they are investigating two aspects- spending and technology used.

He said a total of $125.6 million was spent to establish and rollout the satellite digital television platform, since 2015 and he investment into Walesi is already too large of an asset to not use now.
