Weather challenge for Lions ahead of Rewa clash

Labasa’s head coach Ravneel Pratap has voiced concerns over challenging weather conditions impacting their training sessions ahead of their first Digicel Fiji Premier League match.

“Weather is the problem because we are not getting ground for training but we are still utilizing whatever we have for the league game against Rewa,”

In anticipation of facing Rewa, Pratap shared his admiration for the Delta Tigers,

“We have a lot of respect for Rewa after what they have done in the qualifiers of the OFC Champions League, Rewa is a very tough side, and they have a set of boys who have been playing together for quite a lot of years now,” he told FijiLive.

Despite these challenges, Labasa is in the midst of a strategic rebuild, incorporating a blend of seasoned players with emerging young talent, some of whom are to make their debut against Rewa.

“We have put a lot of young players especially under 19 youth majority of them are 18 years old so there are 6 or 7 of them who will feature in the Rewa game this weekend,” he added.

The Babasiga Lions will play the Delta Tigers Rewa Side in their first DFPL match this Sunday at the Ratu Cakabau Park at 3pm.
