Ratu Kadavulevu School created history in the weekend by becoming the first Fijian school to win the Sanix World Youth Rugby Tournament in Japan.

The boys from Delanakaikai defeated Hastings’ High School of New Zealand 35-5 in the final.

They earlier defeated Framesby High School from South Africa in the quarter finals and Australia's St Augustine's College in the semis.

The team comprised of players from last season’s Dean’s U16 and U17 winning teams and the school used the tournament as a build up to this year’s secondary schools championship.

RKS was placed third in the 2002 edition of the Sanix World Youth Rugby Tournament.

The Sanix World Rugby Youth Tournament is classed as the pinnacle for schoolboy rugby with the champions being considered the strongest school-age rugby team in the world.
