Tuwai backs new faces for next Series leg

Dual Olympic Games gold medalist and Fiji 7s veteran Jerry Tuwai believes the arrival of new faces in the squad for the Hamilton 7s is a timely addition in strengthening the squad for the future.

With a large factory of rugby athletes in Fiji, Tuwai said coming back to find the new inclusions was expected.

“It is not new for Fiji, we have so many talents and new faces was an expectation,” Tuwai told FijiLive.

“With players going out, and contracts for the Fijian Drua so it is nothing new.”

Tuwai added the onus was on the new inclusions to prove they had what it takes.

“We will train, bind together and share the experience to allow us to perform well in the next two weeks.”
