Ravouvou’s Babas knock out series leaders

The 48th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s witnessed an unexpected turn as series leaders Lavidi Brothers were knocked out of the main cup competition by Vatemo Ravouvou’s DXC Barbarians with a close score of 7-5 during the pre-elimination rounds.

The pre-elimination stage was packed with tightly contested matches.

Uluinakau Babas narrowly defeated Kavala Bay Babas 7-5, Wainimala secured a victory over Waibasaga with a 5-0 scoreline, and Ratu Filise emerged victorious against St. John’s Draiba 12-7.

Additionally, Navala triumphed over Namosi Highlanders 15-7, Ravuka Sharks outplayed Bula Brothers Nabukavesi 21-5, Joma Brothers won against Marist CYM Tokou 14-5, and Fire Rugby dominated Bua Babas with a convincing 28-0 win.

The action continues as the Men’s Cup quarter-finals are set to begin at 1.01pm tomorrow at HFC Stadium.
