Karan sets new national record in 5000m

Tavua’s golden boy, Yeshnil Karan has set a new national record in the 5000 metres event.

The 23-year-old achieved this remarkable feat at the Australian Athletics Championship held in Adelaide, Australia, clocking in at 14 minutes and 29.50 seconds.

Karan had previously set the record last year with a time of 14 minutes and 31.73 seconds at the University of Queensland, breaking Davendra Prakash Singh’s 30-year-old record which was set way back in 1993.
