A heavy rain warning is in place for the interior Northern and Eastern parts of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and the Lomaiviti Group.
In a statement, the Fiji Meteorological Service says there is also a flood warning in place for all low-lying and flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Nakavadra at Rakiraki Town and Nasivi River.
Also, a trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Fiji Group – and associated clouds and rain is expected to affect the northern and eastern parts of the country up until Friday.
The Nadi Weather Office said occasional rain, heavy at times and a few thunderstorms over the interior Viti Levu, Northern Division, and Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
This is expected to pass this weekend.
