Tuwai to receive promised $33k: Saukuru

Double Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai will soon receive $33,000 as promised by the previous Fijian government for building his house.

This announcement was made by the Minister for Youth and Sports Jese Saukuru, who confirmed the payment will be made before the national 7s team’s trip to France for the Olympics.

“Jerry Tuwai is a true champion and a role model for our youth,” Minister Saukuru said, praising Tuwai’s achievements and contribution to Fijian sports.

“It is only fitting that he receives the support he was promised.”

Tuwai expressed his appreciation for the government’s support.

“I am humbled by this gesture and thankful for the support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports,”

“This will greatly help me in building a home for my family,” he remarked.
