Boy, 11, electrocuted in Nadi backyard

An 11-year-old child died after he was allegedly electrocuted in his backyard at Moala Village in Nadi on Thursday night.

Divisional Police Commander West, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa said the unfortunate incident occurred the victim was playing in the backyard when he was electrocuted by a live wire.

He was rushed to the Nadi Hospital but was unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival.

Parents and guardians are again reminded to monitor their children’s activities at all times, to avoid such unfortunate accidents.
