Nasilasila returns; Drua makes squad revisions

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head Coach Mick Byrne has strategically refreshed the squad, aiming to hand the Hurricanes their first defeat of the season.

In a series of key changes, Isoa Nasilasila returns from injury to replace Mesake Vocevoce, stepping back into the starting lineup as the lock.

Elia Canakaivata is set to energize the pack, taking over from Meli Derenalagi as the number 8 in the starting 15.

Additionally, Kemu Valetini will take the inside centre spot from Apisalome Vota, while Isikeli Rabitu steps in for Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula at flyhalf, marking his first start in this position for the Drua.

The starting team will see Haereiti Hetet continue at loosehead prop, with Tevita Ikanivere serving as hooker and captain.

Veteran prop Mesake Doge retains his role at tighthead. The middle row remains solid with Nasilasila and Leone Rotuisolia.

The flanks will be manned by Vilive Miramira and Kitione Salawa, complementing Canakaivata at the back of the scrum.

In the backs, Simi Kuruvoli continues as halfback, partnering with the newly positioned Rabitu.

The wings will feature Epeli Momo and Selestino Ravutaumada, with Ilaisa Droasese rounding out the back three at fullback.

The bench brings options with Zuriel Togiatama covering hooker, Livai Natave and Samu Tawake ready as prop reserves, and impactful substitutes Mesake Vocevoce and Meli Derenalagi.

The backs reserves include Peni Matawalu, Michael Naitokani, and Junior Ratuva.

The Drua vs Hurricanes match will kick off at 7.05pm on Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
