Fijian Drua Women’s centre Merewai Cumu remains under observation in Melbourne and will return home when she is medically cleared by authorities.
Coach Moses Rauluni said as per protocol for concussions, Cumu will have to serve a 12-day stand down period.
“She is much better but remains in Melbourne to undergo scans and tests before getting a clearance.”
“We were more worried about her safety than coming back so our HPU Manager Alana Thomas stayed back with her in Melbourne and will travel back with Cumu when she fully recovers and is cleared.”
Meanwhile, forwards Vika Matarugu and Sala Nabuli are carrying ankle injuries and Rauluni is confident the pair will be able to recover in time for their semifinal clash against the Western Force on Friday.
Drua Women will take on the Force at 4.35pm in the first semifinal of the Super W at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva while the Waratahs will host the Brumbies in the second semifinal at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
